Na julle versoek dat ons as inwoners van Wingatepark stem vir of teen kameras deel ek graag my sienning.

Nadat my grensmuur die 4de  keer binner 5 maande deur persone met groot geweld gebreek is om binne in my perseel te kom het ek in ongeveer 2004 ses kameras geinstalleer.  Dit was die einde van die probleem! 

Ek vind dit jammer dat daar mense is wat die gebruik van kameras teen staan onder andere onder die vaandel van reg op privaatheid.  Die spreekwoord sê voorkoming is beter as genesing.  Die realiteit is dat ons almal in die jare 50 met ons deure oop geslaap het en geen grensmuure of heinings gehad het nie.   Ons is egter nou in ‘n nuwe era waar booswigte ons dophou, hulle kyk tydig en ontydig en respekteer geen privaatheid nie.    Dit is jammer dat ons in die samelewing die spoedwalle eers by die skole toelaat nadat ‘n kind of twee dood is.  Ons het reeds ‘n paar fatale insidente in ons omgewing gehad.  Vir die wat dit teenstaan: “Moenie dat jy deur ‘n begrafnis van ‘n geliefde gaan voordat jou standpunt verander nie.”  Stem nou “JA” vir kameras terwyl jy kan.

After my boundary wall was broken with force for the  4th time within 5 months, I installed six cameras .  It was the end of the problem !

I regret that there are those who oppose the use of cameras , for reasons amongst others under the banner of right to privacy . As the saying goes prevention is better than cure. The reality is that we all slept in the 1950s with our doors open and had no boundary wall or fences . However , we are now in a new era where criminals are watching us in season and out of season and respects no privacy . It is unfortunate that we as society only react and install  the speed bumps at the schools after a child or two have died . We have already had a number of fatal incidents in our area . For those who oppose it : " Do you have a funeral of a loved one before changing your position . " Vote "YES" now  for cameras while you can.
